After our May business meeting was complete we played Banned Book Bingo. There were over 25 players in the game and we were introduced to over 80 titles of books that were banned somewhere in America. Board books for children, young adult books that is a graphic re-telling of the Diary of Ann Frank, and even classics, like the book 1984. When a person knew they had a winning board they were encouraged to shout out “BANNED BOOK BINGO”

This was a trial run of a larger public event planned for October during Banned Book Month.

Our players could get their Bingo Cards by either a donation of food for St. Vincent’s or a cash donation. Besides a trunk of food to be delivered and additional $200 was given to feed those in need.
