Veterans Day:

A day of remembrance and respect for those who serve or have served can be spent in many ways.

Each of our school districts typically have programs, events at the county building in Roscommon, and at the different Veteran Halls around the county.  As a veteran of the US Army, I typically go to one or two, to stand among them. Also remember the years I went with my father, uncles, and brother who have since passed away.  Now each of you may not have served; I am certain that someone you remember had, and this is a day to reflect and respect that service.

I also wanted to share that the League of Women Voters Grand Traverse Area (LWV) will be partnering with Kirtland Community College and WCMU NPR to preview the Ken Burns American Revolution series that same night, November 11, 2025, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM  Kirtland Grayling – Community Rooms 4800 West 4 Mile Road, Grayling, MI

This film is a 45-minute preview. The League will introduce the LWV and invite membership. Following the film will be a Q&A session led by KCC VP who was a history professor for 30 years. Admission is free and open to everyone. The program begins at 6 p.m., and attendees can stay after a light reception with snacks, desserts, and beverages.

The League is a political grassroots network and membership organization that believes the freedom to vote is a nonpartisan issue.  You might also remember that they provide guides for voters that profile candidates with an OPEN voice, without opinion.  It is so especially important in these times that groups like the LWV work to protect that right to vote, and we should be in the fight with them.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.  While I may not have the answer, I will try to help you find it. Signed, Frank Peshick

Rallies, protests, townhalls are happening all around. If you know of one that you might want to share with others let us know and we can share the event. If you attend a protest, please take pictures and share them with the Party.

The RCDP has a Zoom license and will use it for special meetings when needed, most often in the winter months.
