CLINTONS TO COMER: POUND SAND

Former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are refusing to testify before the House Oversight Committee chaired by James Comer (R-Kentucky). In their refusal, the Clintons sent an absolutely scathing letter to Comer, published on the social media platform X. It contains notable lines like these:

“Every person has to decide when they have seen or had enough and are ready to fight for this country, its principles and its people, no matter the consequences.

For us, now is that time.”

THE DEPARTMENT OF INJUSTICE

What used to be the top law enforcement agency in the country has become a gang of mob lawyers for Trump. Two recent episodes reinforce this position.

First, this weekend we learned that Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell is under investigation by federal prosecutors, ostensibly for testimony to Congress regarding cost overruns in renovations to the Fed’s headquarters. This is, frankly, ridiculous, and a naked attempt to force him from office before his term expires in May. Donald Trump wants the Fed to drop interest rates (perhaps to zero) to supercharge the economy, and disguise Trump’s destruction of said economy.

Then, there is the ongoing saga of the Renee Good murder. Initially, the FBI was working with Minnesota law enforcement on the case. Then, after less than a day, the FBI turned to obstructing Minnesota law enforcement, saying they were taking over the investigation. Now, we find out that they are not going to do an investigation at all. Four senior officials of the Civil Rights division of the DOJ have resigned in protest. Fortunately, Minnesota is still conducting their own investigation, so Renee Good may yet receive a measure of justice. It just won’t come from the federal agency charged with providing it.

UPDATE 1/14/26 - 6 federal prosecutors have resigned from the US District for Minnesota, after being pushed to conduct an investigation into Renee Good’s wife. Not her murderer, her wife.

THOUSANDS JOIN ANTI ICE PROTESTS ACROSS US

Over 1000 protests are scheduled across the US this weekend, in the wake of the murder of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.

BLAMING THE VICTIM

By now, you know her name was Renee Good, and that she was a 37 year old single mom in Minneapolis. She was also a citizen, meaning the ICE agents who murdered her had absolutely no jurisdiction to detain her or order her out of her vehicle. But that’s what they attempted to do, before firing the 3 shots that killed her.

There is a lot of back and forth over this. There is also a LOT of video, which seems to indicate clearly that the ICE agent murdered her in cold blood.

What does our leadership say about this?

President Trump said the ICE agent was “viciously run over”. The videos make pretty clear that is untrue.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem labeled Good a “domestic terrorist”, and said the ICE was justified in killing her. She is also behind the curious idea that Minnesota law enforcement agencies have “no jurisdiction” in their own state.

Veep JD Vance called it an “attack on federal law enforcement” and said that Good had been “radicalized” by leftists. He also called the shooting justified and said, basically, that Good’s death was her own fault - a “tragedy of her own making”. Vance also claimed that the ICE agent had “absolute immunity”, a concept familiar only to totalitarian states.

Meanwhile, after initially cooperating with Minnesota law enforcement, the DOJ abruptly reversed course and is no longer doing so. Astute readers may come to the conclusion that it’s because of the opinions already expressed by the “leadership”. Minnesota can, indeed, prosecute the shooter, but they would need a thorough investigation, almost impossible with the DOJ’s obstruction.

Meanwhile, protests that started in Minneapolis are rapidly expanding to cities across the country.

JANUARY 6, REVISED

This is the story that appeared on the official Whitehouse.gov web site yesterday, in response to the Democrats holding hearings to commemorate the January 6, 2021, insurrection caused and attempted by then President Donald Trump.

In this revisionist history, the cause of the insurrection was Nancy Pelosi (for not having the foresight to deal with the tens of thousands of violent MAGAs Trump himself had called to Washington) and the Democratic Party, for certifying the 2020 election.

You can’t make this up, but our Government just did.

We can no longer believe anything this government tells us. We can no longer trust our military. Our law enforcement no longer protects us. The United States has arrived at it’s darkest days since the Civil War, because of the avarice, evil, and incompetence of one man.

JANUARY 6, FIVE YEARS ON

Today is the anniversary of the worst crime ever committed by a US president against the United States of America. Donald Trump continues to this day his campaign to re-write history and make himself out a hero. In the interest of truth, here is a brief summary of what has happened since then.

  • On day one of his second administration, Trump pardoned EVERYONE associated with the attack on the Capitol. Even the ones who viciously beat police. Even the ones who were convicted of seditious conspiracy and sentenced to more than 15 years. In a bit of extreme irony, legal experts say that these Trump pardons were so broad that they even include the recently arrested “DC pipe bomber”.

  • Since Trump took office, EVERY person at the DOJ that worked on the insurrection investigation has resigned or been fired. Likewise, all the FBI agents.

  • The Department of Justice ended hundreds of active investigations and prosecutions of the January 6 insurrections. It turns out that, if you control the DOJ, you don’t have to actually pass laws. By deciding which ones you are going to enforce, you are the arbiter of what the law is.

  • Trump recently vetoed a bill that would have brought fresh, safe water to SE Colorado. The bill had passed both houses of Congress without opposition. Trump did this because Colorado refuses to release Tina Peters, who is the only person implicated in the insurrection still in prison. Trump issued her a pardon, but it doesn’t cover State crimes, so Trump has resorted to his usual tactics of threats and extortion. It remains to be seen how far he’ll take this.

  • In March 2022, lawmakers approved a commemorative plaque honoring the bravery of law enforcement on January 6, 2021. Despite having the plaque for over a year, Speaker Mike Johnson refuses to obey the law and display it. The DOJ is asking a court to dismiss a suit brought by law enforcement unions to force it’s display.

  • Ashli Babbitt an Air Force veteran, was shot to death by a police officer as she attempted to break into a room of congresspeople wearing a backpack. The officer was cleared of wrong doing, and was, in fact, given a medal for his efforts. The Trump administration has awarded her family 5 million dollars, and has ordered that she be given a military funeral with full honors.

  • 33 of the pardoned J6 rioters have since been arrested again, on felonies ranging from child sexual abuse to burglary.

  • Special Prosecutor Jack Smith testified before Congress in closed session last week. Smith testified that he believed his team had developed evidence that Donald Trump committed sedition, well beyond the threshold of reasonable doubt. When asked why he didn’t file charges against any of the co-conspirators he identified, Smith said it was because he believed everything had happened through Donald Trump, and that none of it would have happened without him.

US ATTACKS VENEZUELA, MADURO CAPTURED

While you slept, military forces from this country attacked without provocation the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. US ground forces have also, apparently, kidnapped it’s president, Nicholas Maduro, and his wife, supposedly bringing them to the US. Maduro was indicted during the 1st Trump administration, charged with “narco terrorism”.

Details on the attack are sketchy. Many explosions were heard in Caracas, and there has been a great deal of aircraft activity over the city. What we do know for certain is that now the US can take it’s proper place with Russia as a rogue pariah state.

MASS LAYOFFS COMING

Over 100 American companies have filed notice that they intend to conduct mass layoffs in January, 2026. These include giants like Amazon, General Motors, and McDonalds. A mass layoff is defined as at least 50 employees over a 30 day period OR 1/3 of the workforce OR 500 employees of any company.

1.1 million layoffs occurred in 2025. It looks like they aren’t over yet.

DOJ REMOVES STUDY ON FAR RIGHT VIOLENCE

The US Department of Justice has quietly removed from it’s web site a study that concludes the far right is responsible for the lion’s share of domestic terrorism.

The study found that, since 1990, the far right has committed 87% of the murders ascribed to an ideological motive. The study was conducted by the National Institute of Justice.

RIGGING THE 2026 ELECTION

President Donald Trump vowed Monday to end all mail in voting and get rid of voting machines.

Mail in voting is used by 1/3 of all Americans and vote tabulators are in use in nearly every voting precinct.

The US constitution gives no authority to the president to regulate voting. Those functions are left to individual states.

To justify his dictatorial comments, Trump claimed states “are merely an ‘agent’ for the Federal Government in counting and tabulating the votes” and must do what the federal government “as represented by the President of the United States” tells them to do.

TRUMPSTEIN - THE MONSTER THAT WILL NOT DIE

Like the antagonist in Mary Shelley’s classic novel, the Epstein Affair created by MAGA seems destined to pursue Republicans and Donald Trump to the ends of the earth. As of July 29, a whopping 79% of Americans want all of the Epstein files released.

It would be difficult, these days, to find a topic on which more Americans agree. The reason is simple - Epstein was the worst child sex trafficker of this era. His services, however, were not cheap. Many very wealthy people paid him to have sex with children, a crime as great as those of Epstein himself. Everyone wants to know who those people were.

Epstein’s assistant in crime, Ghislaine Maxwell, was convicted and is serving a 20 year sentence. She was recently interviewed by the Deputy Attorney General himself, an unprecedented event despite the President’s assertion that it was “not unusual and totally above board”. Maxwell must have told the Deputy AG what he wanted to hear, because she was transferred to a minimum security facility days later, in another highly unusual move. Trump, meanwhile, denied any knowledge of Maxwell’s transfer, a laughable claim for a control freak who has made the DOJ his private law firm.

Every attempt at deflection, and they are coming in bunches every day, only adds fuel to the fire. It’s so bad that a strategy meeting was scheduled at VP Vance’s house to discuss how to make Epstein go away. This meeting was cancelled when the press got wind of it, and Vance denied it was happening, but not really - it was moved to the White House itself.

It’s not going away. Perhaps it’s because of all those photos of Trump and Epstein, or perhaps it’s because of all the nice things Trump said about him.

RCSO SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH ICE

On June 5, 2025, the Roscommon County Sheriffs Office became only the 5th law enforcement agency in Michigan to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The RCSO entered this agreement under the “Task Force Model”.

Among the things detailed in this agreement is the idea that citizens can be questioned and detained for the mere suspicion that they are “illegal aliens”. It also makes clear that, except for training and some IT services, Roscommon County is on the hook for ANY expenses associated with this agreement.

As of this article, there are now 6 Michigan LEAs (out of hundreds) that have signed these agreements with ICE.

Roscommon County’s economy is based on tourism. We have no agriculture to speak of. We have not, in the past, had a large “Illegal alien” problem. What is the point of this agreement? We have been provided with no evidence that the benefits outweigh the cost.
